Q: Where does my tax deductible donation go?

A: Our overhead is unusually low, which allows your donation to go nearly entirely to the following basic categories:

• Critical subsidies for English speaking families who need aliyah relocation support services, marital or family therapy, grief or trauma counseling, crisis intervention, individual or group therapy, diagnostic evaluation, or many other mental health challenges.
   
• Community education through groups and classes, on topics relating to healthy parenting, employment issues, living with mental or physical illness, adolescent substance abuse, social skills development, bereavement support, and many more essential topics.
   
• Development of our Healing Resource Center services for families facing the critical challenge of cancer or other serious illness, with the huge impact on family life and function.
   
• Expansion of our lending library so that skill-building materials for mental and physical health are widely available for all to borrow.

Q. How do your psychologists, therapists, secretaries, and management get paid?

A. Our staff is not salaried and we have no employees. We make heavy use of volunteers when possible, plus our use of the JFS Provider System allows us to rapidly deliver top quality services with a minimum of overhead investment. Our clinical staff is comprised of highly skilled private sector professionals who allocate part of their time to JFS cases, for greatly reduced fees. Part of that reduction represents their own personal charitable contribution, and this is supplemented in extreme cases (there are many of them) with JFS therapy subsidies from your donations.

Each dollar you donate is used wisely and effectively -- and brings a very direct improvement to lives in Israel that are otherwise wobbling under a serious emotional load.
